As competition in the South West increases for charity Christmas events each year, Children’s Hospice South West’s Santas on the Run required brand design progression to ensure stand out in this competitive market place for it’s three locations in Bristol, Devon and Cornwall.

A focus was placed on event photography for the printed collateral which showcased the fun real participants have at the event and makes the most of striking images of masses of bright red suited Santas having a great time, thereby creating branding eye-catching printed promotional materials.
Alongside the more traditional branded materials to promote the event (posters, flyers, postcards to past participants etc), a greater focus was placed on original digital and social media promotion for 2019 which helped this year’s event be the biggest for the charity ever. Illustration focused animation bringing the Santa from the existing logo to life enabled this.
To launch the event, an innovative email was sent to all supporters which was designed to be interactive, fun and impossible to ignore. Alongside this, animated social media content helped brand the event and give stand out.
_6.31% click rate for the Santas on the Run launch email (non profit benchmark is 2.79%).
_£526 in ticket sales directly attributable to launch email, the highest ever for Children’s Hospice South West.

“I just wanted to say a big thank you for all the digital efforts and push for Santas on the Run. I’m thrilled with our level of sign ups for Bristol over the weekend. We left on Friday with around 400 Santa’s and we now have 734 which puts us in a very strong position to push on between now and December… I know from monitoring all the activity and sign ups that the digital activity has played the biggest part in this”
